Hi. You've bought a discontinued product from ebay (I hope you did not pay much for it) which has had the HHD removed, the original HHD would have had the firmware installed in order for the NAS to boot up and function. If you read the following link, you may be able to put the Terastation into EM mode and re-install the firmware which can be dowloaded from Buffalo: http://forums.buffalotech.com/t5/Storage/FAQ-1-of-5-EM-Mode-boot-procedures/td-p/100313

Wrong Ratty2013, he needs to get the TFTP image for the unit to boot it into EM mode then reinstall the firmware.

The link I posted clearly states TFTP image if EM mode is not possible. So I was not wrong, but thank you davo.

I boot via EM MOde Red button.

I set up TFTP Server, the path is filled with "
Title = BUFFALO TS-HTGL Updater Ver.1.33"

The Station GET  2 oder 4 files. Now in the display of the station 1000er Ethernet Connection, The Fail LED off HDD 1 disappears.

Now NAS NAvigator see the tera station. even, if i change my ip to DHCP Auto IP.

New is 192.168.178.55 or something like that.

NAS NAvi say it's in EM mode and i have to update it.

Now when i want to run the TSupdater.exe it says

Couldn confirm that a partition exist on target. Updater will format target ........ and then i say yes and then "ACP_STATE_FAILURE" failed to formatting...

What now ? Should i put a USB to SATA Con. to the HDD and make a Partition ? Yes ? What ? NTFS GPT FAT ?
