Hello,

I have Buffalo Ministation 1 TB external USB hard drive. This problem started today;

When I'm trying to connect Ministation to my Macbook Pro it starts to make weird beeping sound. Beeping comes clearly from the hard drive, not from the computer. Beeping lasts about 4 seconds and after that happens nothing. Computer doesn't recognize the Ministation. Before the beeping blue light of the hard drive flashes once. I tried to connect hard drive to my iMac and pc laptop also, but it doesn't make any difference.

What could possibly cause this problem? Is there any chance the get the data back? Ministation hasn't been dropped or suffered any damage.

Have you tested it on a second PC/MACA with a different USB cable and if so are the results the same?

Yes. I have tested it with 2 different cables. I have also tested it out with 3 different computers. Result is always the same.

If it doesnt appear in disk utlity then the HDD is faulty.
