Title: How to setup Remote Web Admin
Post by: ghines on June 07, 2013, 11:22:54 PM

Hi all,

I have just purchased a Linkstation Pro Quad and I'm trying to setup Remote Web Admin access from the WAN to the Linkstation.  I'm talking about Remote Web Admin to administer the Linkstation and not WebAccess for accessing the shares.

Unfortunately my Netgear Router does not do Port Remapping so forwarding say port 8080 to port 80 is not possible.  I have therefore setup the Router to forward External Port 80 to Port 80 of the Linkstation IP.  But it does not work and scans of the WAN IP show port 80 not to be open.

BTW - WebAccess to the shares (port 9000) is working just fine, as is FTP!

Any ideas what I have done wrong would be appreciated.

TIA

Greg
