Hi all - hope someone can help out here :/
For so long, I had no probs with my LinkStation Live.
After a poweroutage a week ago, I can't map networkdrives or otherwise SMB
connect...
Start->Run-> \\192.168.1.30
Start->Run-> \\hostname
Map a network drive
I'm on Win7...
...and yes - both PC, Switch and Router are on the same network
(192.168.1.xx/24)
NAS: LS-CH1.0TL, fw: 1.07
Navigator: v. 2.31
I am *not* in EM mode...
Error message:
Windows cannot access \\sharename
Network path was not found
-> Diagnose:
-> "The remote device or resource won't accept the connection"
...
WHAT I *CAN* DO:
PING
FTP (LAN)
WebAccess (LAN & WAN (no psw btw))
MediaServer works
Windows Media Center can reach media files on the NAS OK
NAS shows up as "on the network" but is inaccessible (PC, laptops)
NAS Navigator2 v.2.31 finds the NAS and shows info
Admin area connects and works fine
...
PACKETS:
Using WireShark, I see both ends trying to connect to eachother (NAS & PC)
Both ends using correct IPs, but:
Source: NAS, DST: PC, Note: destination unreachable
(which kinda makes me think routing prob...)
Same WireShark session, I see PC [SYN]-ing the NAS which in return sends
[RST, ACK] which I believe is a reject...
(do correct me if I'm wrong)
Also, IPs are being ARP referred to by correct corresponding MACs
...
NETWORK:
192.168.1.xxx/24 on all devices
Router DHCP enabled
NAS: static IP (.30)
PC: static IP (.101)
Def.Gateway: .254 on both
FireWall (Win):
Tried on and off (and service stopped)
Ports:
Using Nmap port scanner SYN Stealth Scan, on the NAS, I see opened:
tcp: 21, 80, 8080, 9050, 22939, 873, 6881, 3689, 9000, 8873
udp: 69, 137, 5353
On router:
Ports 21, 445, 6881, 8080, 9000 are pointed to the NAS (.30)
All is IPv4
Ipv6 is not activated/ticked - never was (on main PC).
...
WHAT I HAVE TRIED::
Access from both PC, laptops and phone (all on LAN), no success.
Usually, on the phone on WLAN, I can scan my network and see the NAS
I rebooted NAS, PC, Router, Switch - all independently, and all together
I tried swap the switch to a "dumb" switch
I checked - doublechecked and rechecked - my router config
- all traffic on the subnet is pointed to def.gateway (.254)
I've tried the NAS with both static and DHCP IP address
I tried a .cmd file using "net use" - no success
I created a new share - not accessible
I tried mapping new - no success
When I try mapping from Navigator, I'm told that "standard-remoteshare folder is missing"
I have followed the FAQs ssuggestion on uninstalling->reinstalling the MS network client & File & printer sharing - no success
I have checked that file and printer sharing is (still) enabled
I've read (almost) endlesly through these forums
...
Well, thats about it, I guess - any/all suggestions on how to get my shares back is much appreciated!!
Do tell me if you need more/other info!
Again, this issue appeared right after a power outage - before, there was no probs at all :/
Thanks in advance, any/all :)
Bo
I would try to install the latest firmware. If your LS is LS-CHLV1, latest firmware is 1.12.
Hi thanks for your answer.
I have now upgraded F/W to 1.12.
odd thing happened...
I can now SMB access those shares placed on "disk 1"
The other shares (do not have a disk # assigned under "disk or array") can be seen through webaccess - just being empty though :/
(and I know they are not)
When typing "\\sharename\foldername" or "\\IP\foldername" an error occurs "network name cannot be found"...
Any ideas?
thanks :)
I would try a factory reset. Unfortunately your unit is relatively old, I am not familiar with this model, so please check the manual. It should be possible to do it whit the webacces.

Instead of "\\sharename\foldername" it should be "\\LS-xxxx\sharename"
Note: replace the LS-xxxx with you Linkstation device name
