Title: System Error 50 when mapping to Buffalo NAS in a Win PE environment
Post by: Briandr on May 23, 2013, 11:11:03 AM

Hi,

Booting into a Windows PE environment with a USB Ghost Boot drive to re-image. When the boot process competes I check via the command prompt that my device (laptop) does have IP address and I can ping servers on the organization's network, including the NAS. I am using net use to try and connect to a Buffalo LinkStation NAS. I am trying to authenticate using my AD credentials. I can map to a share on a server, but when attempting to map to a Buffalo NAS drive that was shared out, no luck. I keep getting System Error 50, This request is not supported. Google which I don't put alot of faith in these days is full of links with people having issues mapping to a NAS drive. So what gives?  I can map this drive within Windows 7. I can connect to other servers shares without any problems.

Thanks.
