Title: Terastation 5200 and MAC issues
Post by: bmartinik on May 14, 2013, 05:25:53 PM

I have just sold a client a terastation 5200 and he has a MAC that runs Lion version 10.7.5. He tried to use SMB to connect to NAS, this worked but was extremely slow. He then connected using AFP, this was much faster but whenever he tries to copy a large amount of data it locks up. He then needs to reboot the MAC. I have read alot of articles with regards to Lion and the changes they made to their AFP protocol. Has Buffalo caught up with all this?? Are people still having issues with this OS version or is he doing something wrong. I have purchased Buffalo NAS products for other clients and have had good luck but these users are mostly on the windows side. Any help or suggestions on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Are there any newer firmware revisions on the horizon to address any weirdness with the MAC's. I am on 2.30 which i think is the latest.
