Title: LinkStation Pro Duo - Cant connect to gigabit switch
Post by: lazra on February 10, 2009, 09:33:54 AM

Hello,

I have troubles connecting my LinkStation Pro Duo to a DLink gigabit switch. The switch says there is no device connected on the port the LS is pluged in (the led is OFF). The network LED on the LS is also OFF. I tried with differents cable, all tested and working between my PC and the switch, on every port of the switch. I also tried with an other gigabit switch (still DLink), with no success.

The switch is directly connected to a router, and used by other gigabit devices. If I connect the LinkStation directly to the router, it works fine, but the router only work at 100Mbps. That's why I'd like to connect the LS to the gigabit switch.

Model Name: LS-WTGL/R1-V3

Firmware Version: 3.07

Ethernet frame size: 1.518bytes (Default)

Switch: DLink DGS-1008D or DGS-1005D

Router: Freebox HD

Am I doing something wrong ? I can't understand why the LS connect just fine to the router, and can't connect to the switch.

We've seen issues with some Linksys and Netgear gigabit switches. Try a different brand of switch if you can.
