Title: Buffalo 500G Portable HD
Post by: crezza on May 09, 2013, 05:47:26 AM

Hi

Last few weeks my external hd has been playing up, I use a mac and its no showing all my folders as alias when I open the hard drive, it wont let me open the folders

So i have connected it to a windows laptop running windows 7, i can access all my files but when i try to copy them to my desktop it will copy a few items out the folder and then come up with the error message: an unexpected error is keeping you from copying the file error code 0x8007045D.

Any ideas how I can fix this as I need my files and i havent made a backup of them :(

thank you

Probably a corrupt partition. You will need to attempt to reformat the HDD to see if it is a physical HDD or logical partition issue. You can try and run data recovery software on it before doing so though.
