Title: HD-HTGLBA8 - Deleted Share - Any Way To Recover?
Post by: rozel on May 04, 2013, 03:14:58 PM
As the subject says, I inadvertently deleted a Share on my Terastation and seemingly lost 500Gb of valuable music data. I am familiar with Recovery software but they only recover from Local Drives or PC's on a network. My NAS is set up on a 4-disc RAID system and I am wondering if anyone knows of any software out there which may help me recover the data - or is it lost forever? I wish that when I deleted the Share a popup would have arisen stating that "all data will be lost - do you want to continue" but nothing presented itself - I was trying to clear the credentials of the share but deleted the share itself, like an idiot! I am raising this thread in the off-chance that something can be done? TIA roz

If you delete the share there is no way to recover the data I'm afraid.

Thank you - I had to ask.

I presume that by taking each of the four RAID drives out one by one (it is a RAID 5 setup) that using standard recovery software on them individually won't find anything - it is just a thought perhaps?

Unfortunately not, since the share no longer exists on the disks, removing them would be pointless.
