Title: HS-DH2.0TGL/R5 drive replacement procedure?
Post by: TimN42 on April 24, 2013, 10:09:07 PM

I understand the largest drive upgrade that has been tested in the HS-DH2.0TGL/R5 TeraStation is 4TB (1TB drives).

I'm getting sector warnings and need to change my drives.

Can someone point me to a procedure (is it as easy as pulling the old ones out and inserting new 1TB drives, the powering on)?

- Do I need to format the drives etc...

- Do I need to load new FW -- currently 2.14 (if so, how? Would you load it onto the TeraStation drive and launch the executable)? is there a procedure?

Thanks,

Tim

Does anyone know where I can go to get help?

Format each of the HDDs (1 large NTFS partition on each is fine)

Then follow FAQ3 of 5 in the storage section to TFTP the unit, this will put it into EM mode then just reapply the firmware.
