Title: LS-XH2.0TL HDD Replacement Request for Assistance
Post by: PC on April 05, 2013, 04:19:00 PM

I am looking for assistance replacing the HDD in my Linkstation.

I have successfully completed the TFTP update and had the 2 files served to the LS-XH2.0L.  I cannot see the LS in Nav or the LSUpdater.  I have a Win7 64 bit computer in Safemode w/ networking.  What am I missing?  I tried following Faq (2of 5) without any success.

I have followed the FAQ's ( both 2 and 3 of 5) regarding the process. I am able to successfully execute the TFTP procedure to the point of having the blocks served. No boot occurs beyond that. The LS then continually blinks Blue rapidly forever it seems. When I manually  reboot I am unable to enter EM mode and proceed to update the firmware as the LinkStation is never discovered by either NasNavi or by LSUpdater. What happens after re-boot is that the LS flashes Blue rapidly for a short period of time then settles in to an endless Red flashing of six long flashes. When I press the function button once during the Red flashes the LS againg enters an endless Blue flashing state.

By following the threades on this subject I noticed a reference to the cause possibly being the use of the wrong TFTP boot recovery file. I have downloaded the two versions that appear to be most likely the correct one for my model number. Model number LS-XH2.0TL. Judging by that Model number I first downloaded "TFTP Boot Recovery LS-XL 1.00.exe" from ftp://24.153.165.234/array1/share/nas-recovery/. When after not being able to boot into EM mode then downloaded :TFTP Boot Recovery LS_Pro-1.11.exe from the same site.

I am still ubable to boot to EM mode after successfully executing the TFTP Boot recovery procedure.

I am trying to install a Seagate 3tb HDD. Over the many attempts I have made to install the HDD I have tried the HDD as delivered, I have also formatted the HDD to a single partition as EXT 3, XFS and again as NTFS. There has been no noticiable difference as I am unable to attempt the firmware load by execution of LSUpdate. I have modified the LSUpdate.ini file as directed in the FAQ's.

Which TFTP is the correct version? Are there more steps that I can be directed to? What am I missing? Having followed the well written threads as best I can I am aparently missing something and don't know what else to try or to ask..

Thank You

PC

The problem is there's no TFTP Version for that model. If you do use the correct version the blink blue light should turn solid within 30 sec after the second block is served.
