Title: Linkstation Duo Failed Installation
Post by: michaelturrill on April 05, 2013, 06:42:23 AM

Hi all, I've seen a few similar posts but haven't quite been able to get the answers I'm after.

I've run the Nasnavi installer for windows, which said it failed but upon running the program it is able to search and detect my NAS.

The problems continue, as the device tells me it is in Emergency mode. A quick mouse over the NAS icon in the list (which has a question mark) informs me that the device needs a firmware update. Great. A little bit annoying that it doesn't work out of the box, but it happens I guess. Jump on the website and grab the latest firmware (v 1.64), and I'm immediately struck with the question of how to upload it to the device? I don't have web access to the device, I've tried http://ip-address including on port 8080 and 9000, but there's nothing there. It's definitely there, as I can see it in the router. I also tried resetting by holding down the function button for 10 seconds and then 1 seconds on reboot, got some very promising flashing lights but no joy otherwise.

Any help that someone could shoot my way would be hugely appreciated, as I'm really disappointed I can't get this up and running.

Download the firmware, unzip it and run the LSUpdater.exe file with your anti virus and firewall software disabled -> Update -> Wait for the Firmware to be installed :-)
