Hi

 

First time poster so be gentle with me!

 

Just bought a Buffalo Linkstation Pro Duo 6TB LS-WVLE08

 

Set it up yesterday and it all seemed to work fine but after some thought I felt that I would be better off with a RAID1 set up, so attempted to set this up.

 

Eventually worked out how to do it (manuals could be easier to use chaps!) and left it overnight at 10% complete (according to the web admin page) to carry on doing its stuff. When I came down this morning it was still sat at 10% complete.

 

In addition to this I have managed to press the function button and power down the unit inadvertently but when it came back on it was still flashing orange lights at me which according to the error message in NAS Navigator 2 means it is still "restructuring 1 RAID array"

 

Questions....

 

How long should it take to set up the RAID array?

Have I knacked the process with the inadvertent meddling?

 

Is there a way to halt the process and get me back to the out of the box settings and start over?

 

Any help appreciated!

Rebuilding the raid can take 10 hours per TB on that unit. If you reboot the device is will have to start ye process from the beginning.

I might just leave it for the week and see what happens then!

Still haven't decided on file structure for backup yet so it gives me a chance to think that through properly.

Just hope that my meddling hasn't caused any problems. Learning by my mistakes as usual!
