I just received the LinkStation Duo that I had ordered as part of my home network overhaul.  At glancing at some of the posts here, I am starting to wonder if buyer's remorse is setting in...before I have even opened the package.  My plans for the LinkStation Duo were to be a Shared iTunes Library for the laptops in the house, NAS for backups fromt he laptops, as well as the Time Machine backup for my new Mac.  I've seen threads here that seem to indicate that getting the Time Machine feature to work consistently is problematic.  Is that indeed the case?

And, if that is not the case, I have a question about setup.  Can I enable features as I go, or does everything have to be set up before moving data over?  Is there a best practices doc?

TM backup from the NAS should take no more than 5 minutes, log onto the web admin page of the Linkstation -> Extensions -> Time Machine -> Select a share (folder) where you want the backup to go -> Apply -> Done.

Then just run TM on your MAC as per normal and select the Linkstation as a destination.

People that say they are having issues probably just dont know wft they are doing.

So, adding the other extensions (iTunes server, etc) can happen when I am first setting up the NAS or later after data has been added to the NAS, and I shouldn't run into issues?
