Title: TS-HGTL "All HD Not Found"
Post by: dm7ich on February 24, 2013, 04:35:21 PM

I have already read through FAQ 1-5, downloaded all the required files to do an upgrade (firmware) and have acquired four new WD Caviar Black 1TB drives and setup in acquired TS-HGTL (TeraStation Pro II) box.  To set the box up I had to go through FAQ 3 (TFTP Boot Procedure), then debug mode of firmware forced flash (FAQ 2) following appearance of box in NAS Navigator.  While there also checked boxes in Debug mode (after making "version check" and "debug" edits to to TSUPDATER.INI file) to "rebuild partition table" and "delete user-config" as I was starting with bare OEM drives.  Went through putting default image on box at some point in here. Performed incremental firmware flashes of 1.33-1.32 then 1.39-1.35 (to get past error which stated i"incorrect Password" and "re-enter administrator password").  Everything went well and I was able to use the NAS connected directly to a PC.

Powered down, disconnected the NAS from the PC direct connect, hooked it up to my home network via a switch and powered back on like my TeraStation Live box.  The Pro II yielded error "E07 - All HD not Found".  Rebooting to EM mode is not working so need to use TFTP approach.  After repeated troubleshooting, I found that the following sequence is repeatable:

1) Error: "All HD not found".

2) Direct connect to NAS using IP 192.168.11.1

3) Follow FAQ 3 of 5 (TFTP Boot Procedure)

4) Start NAS Navigator and wait a few minutes.  HD error goes away. RAID 5 array is now OK and data can be seen on TS-HGTL box.

5) Disconnect ethernet cable from box (leave power on) and connect to network switch.

6) After two full "display cycles on TS-HGTL, box acquires IP address of 192.168.1.10, can be seen on home network just fine.

7) Leave everything intact and power down TS-HGTL box.  Power back on and you get back to Step 1 (above) "E07 - All HD not found".

Any insight opposite this behavior and how to resolve it so that I can power down the TS-HGTL box, power it back up and everything works (like a normal NAS) w/o jumping through the above hoops would be greatly appreciated!
