Hi,
I've just bought an empty Buffalo DriveStation Duo HD-WIU2R1 housing and connected two 500GB SATA drives to it.The box detects them as two separate drives. After switching to RAID0, the utility told me that the box is being prepared and both drive LEDs (1&2) start to blink immediatly in green. This is now in progress since 20 hours! Is this normal? How long will this process take to finish?
Any help is highly appreciated as the box is needed badly!!

The issue is solved. The reason for malfunction was a box not capable to use 500GB drives. Although the DriveStation has been sold with 2x 500GB & 1000GB drives, too, my box wasn't able to handle this capacities. It was originally sold as a 2x 250GB version.
Funny to see that even Buffalos customer service didn't know how to handle this issue - although they've got the s/n of the box :-(
