I have the BUFFALO LinkStation Live 3 TB Network Attached Storage (NAS) - LS-X3.0TL,
Running Mac OS X 10.7.5
Linkstation was set to DHCP
I've used it with no issues for about a month (LS connected to router, and I connect wirelessly using NAS Navigator to map). The other day, it was accidentally unplugged. There was no disk activity at the time (not writing or reading or even connected). When I plugged it back in, the blue light just flashed continuously rapidly. Afterwards, I was unable to connect to it in any manner.
Following did not work:
Refreshing NAS navigator doesn't show it anywhere.
Resetting router, Linkstation, computer did not change anything.
Connecting directly to linkstation via ethernet, no luck.
Connecting via Finder - Go - Connect to Server - using the IP, SMB, or AFP, with no luck (to what I thought was the IP of the linkstation based on connected devices to router).
Reinstalling NAS Navigator
I'm unable to find directions on how to restore or reset this device if you're unable to connect to it. Any advice?
anyone have any insight?
mine does the same thing. either the hard drive is dead or the boot loader is not working. Calls to buffalo (hold for ever and nothing) and emails so far have been unresponsive. looks like this piece of **bleep** just needs to be trashed.
