Title: Mysterious Problem - How do you completely start over with new hard drives in my CloudStor?
Post by: scotchguard on February 02, 2013, 03:14:00 PM

I have a relativity new Cloudstor Pro CS-WV2.0 (with 2 bays).  It came with one hard drive and I used it for a while just fine until my brother took the hard drive.  So i was in the position of completely starting over from scratch with just the cloudstor device but I can't get it to restart.

I tried too different hard drives, an WD Blue 500 and a Seagate  Barracuda 7200 and i can't get it to show up on the network.  The front light keeps flashing 6 times but I dont know what to do.   Can you help?

Follow FAQ 3 of 5 at the top of the storage section to TFTP the unit (this basically loads the OS) from there just reinstall the firmware.

The OS for the CloudStor left with the drive your brother took, so E6 is saying, "I am F'ed up, help!"

Should be able to recover use of unit by TFTP and firmware update.

Good Luck
