Title: LS-500GL New Hard Drive
Post by: dialatech on January 28, 2013, 04:49:50 AM

Well i currently have a old  LS-500GL hanging around with no hard drive in the enclouse, Im wanting to install a new hard drive and get using this NAS drive again. So i have a few questions for you forks.

If you would be kind enough to reply with some answers.

1) What is the largest hard drive capacity i can use on this model?

2)How do you get this working? (I have read that you need to create partitions on it with the old HDD, which i dont have or you can use a tool called TFTP Boot Recovery HS-DHGL)

3) if i can use TFTP Boot Recovery HS-DHGL, where do i download this tool from?

4) Are these steps correct to to use this tool?

set your pc's ip to 192.168.11.1
and run the tft server
turn the nas on
when it starts beeping tap the button
and it will grab em mode files via tftp
you can then flash it with rebuild partitions ticked
in debug of the updater

This link is not working. I've tried it several times through out the day with no luck.
The search engine on Buffalo's site is not even acknowledging such a file name.

Any idea where else this file might reside?  I have two LS-500GLs that have fried their hard drives.

Never mind.
I got it from a filebox type site linked from a different article.
