Hi guys, I just bought my Buffalo TeraStation™ Pro 8 Bay station (TS-8VH8.0TL/R6EU) but I´m experiencing some trouble.
Since I´m a Windows server administrator with almost no experience with Linux I´m aiming to use this as a Windows server.
The firmware version is 1.14.
1. I have just installed Windows Server 2008 R2 and installed the missing drivers for the SATA-controller card. I´m checking disk management but I can only see four disks even if all eight LEDs are healthy green on front of the NAS. I´ve tried Parted Magic and it recognizes all the disk as healthy and I can see all of them. But I´m still only able to see 4 of 8 disks in Windows. I recently installed Windows Server 2012 and it´s the same issue unfortunately. What can I do to use all the disks on a Windows server? Am I´m doing some partioning wrong?
2. This is a minor issue. Even when I´m in Windows Server it seems the NAS never leaves the boot mode. The yellow cirkel on the power-on button keeps on flashing and the fans are contantly on maximum speed. According to the product data sheet, the unit supports Windows Server but the fans never goes silent. Does anyone know what to do to make the NAS leave this boot-mode and make the fans go silent?
Thanks in advance to all you Buffalo users that have time to read my message and help me out. I´m here if you need to ask me some question
