Hi.
So I'm pretty dumb when it comes to computers. I can use the internet, thats about it.
Anyway I have so many files on my computer, and so many of them valuable as I am a mother.
I think I have a Drive Station™ Axis. Its 2 terrabite. I've never really had any problems until recently.
Normally I would unplug it as I shut down and back up every couple of days and things would just work, after the original set up last year.
But then I started to keep it plugged in constantly (usb) and things still seemed to be working fine, recently however upon shutting down and restarting it asks me to set up again, so I did. When I did it said "Performing first full back up) I got extremely worried this meant it would delete the previous back ups of the full back up and over ride with the new full back, I'm unsure. As I said I have no idea about this stuff.
It has asked me once again to set up settings, and I'm just wondering , are all my past back ups safe? does it copy the things if its backing up things already on thee? it is a 2 t hard drive yet my computer is only 500gb, obviously I backup and delete off my computer, but really that much?
Am I safe?
Sorry for the trouble I really hope someone sees this and saves my dumb ass.
What software are you using to preform the backups?
Software? Um lol. I just use the actual buffalo to back up, it asks me to set it up and then proceeds to back up at selected intervals. This wasn't a problem until recently when it keeps asking me to re set up and I'm worried it will over write everything I've already backed up. Am I making any sense? I'm so sorry. I obviously need a computer tech guy to come save me. ugh.
