I don't like the Buffalo sleep function; I would rather have my NAS constantly on (which is possible) and have the hard disks go to sleep after a specific period of time (not possible with Buffalo). That way, the NAS would always be available but would use minimal energy (and minimize wear on the hard disks).
Yes, I know about the Buffalo Navigator and the automatic mode. That will not work with my Logitech devices which use the squeezebox media server of the Buffalo NAS... :-( Or will the auto function make the NAS wake up when you try to access it even without Navigator?
Are we going to get a better sleep function on our Buffalo devices? Is there a way around my issue?
