Title: Sleep on Linkstation Pro Duo
Post by: dndrich on December 31, 2012, 12:23:33 PM

Can't seem to find this anywhere...what does sleep do? I have my Linkstation set to sleep at night basically. If I were to try to access it, would it wake up during that time?

No, it will not wake up.  You will have to wait for the NAS to wake up to change the settings.

I really don't like the Buffalo sleep function; I would rather have my NAS constantly on (which is possible) and have the hard disks go to sleep after a specific period of time (not possible with Buffalo).  That way, the NAS would always be available but would use minimal energy (and wear on the hard disks).

Yes, I know about the Buffalo Navigator and the automatic mode.  That will not work with my Logitech devices which use the media server of the Buffalo NAS...  :-(
