Hi Guys,
Looking for a little help here. My Cloudstor cs-wx is stuck in e06 mode. I have reformatted the drives (showing unallocated in windows and they are both working fine) have downloaded the new firmware and have tried everything to get the machine in EM mode (held function button for six seconds and powered on etc etc. Have tried connecting via lan with computer directly ip 192.168.11.1 but while the e06 is showing the TFTP will sometimes accept request but the lsupdater.exe cannot find the box. Anybody have any ideas?
You say it is in E6 but not EM Mode, which indicates some confusion on you behalf, not helped by the fact EM is undocumented by Buffalo.
If when you power on the unit after some time it settles down to no lights and then six blinks of the red LED it is in EM Mode and is saying that there is a pretty F'ing critical problem and it cannot load the OS.
To move from E6 to the state where it will seek TFTP (192.168.11.1) you need to hit the Function button after E6 and the device should start blinking blue. If at this stage you do not see the TFTP server providing data, something is not working and I would try again. If you are using Win 7 the firewall can be a bitch to totally disable, but don't disable the firewall service since that will disable all network traffic.
So, hold Function while power is off only if you need to reset unit - password issue.
Turn unit on and if F'ed it will end up in EM automatically. Once Red E6 is seen then press and hold funtion till unit starts flashing blue. If TFTP server sends data wait until unit stops flashing and blue stays lit. Then run the update or NasNavi tools.

Wrong again, when any unit is in EM mode there will be no info/error LED at all. I think you are getting confused between EM mode and E06.

Wrong again, totally disabling the Windows firewall is required.
