I think there was a power outage once and it was blinking 7x and Navi was showing it was resyncing RAID 1.

Brought it to the Buffalo local support and the techie guy said it was firmware corruption.

I did a force update, it resynced again and now the light is showing solid blue.

But when I went to the web admin, it was showing checking/formatting disk with no progress shown... just that loopy windmill thingie.

Navi shows it as "HDD (RAID 1) Unformatted / Not Connected.

I took out both HDD and plugged it into my PC. Shows up fine all the data.

Anything wrong? Please help thanks.

PS:

I could probably extracted the data file out temporarily, format both disks and transfer them back in, but that's a last resort.

It's been running for more than 24 hours now. Is this normal? Just 2x 1TB Western Digital Caviar Green disks running on RAID1.

Is there an alternative? Can I plug out the HDD and "restore" the RAID or check the disks thru some software?

Typically, a disk check should only take 4 - 6 hours per Terabyte of total storage capacity, so, a disk check that has been running for more than 24 hours is definitely not normal. Since you have already verified the contents of the drives, if you powercycle the unit, does it go back into a disk check? Are you still able to see the unit listed in the Nas Navigator software?

Yes I have powered down with no problems.

It boots up properly and blue LED stays solid.

Login to Web Admin still shows again checking/formatting disk with no progress bar, just rotating icon.

NasNavi shows red bar with words "Unformatted/Not Connected".
