Title: Non-default share irretrievable after firmware restore (LS-CH1.5TL)
Post by: cc75 on December 15, 2012, 04:47:36 AM

I did TFTP boot and firmware recovery after a 6 red blinks error (Linkstation Live LS-CH1.5TL).

File system was reset to empty so I bought UFS Explorer to recover data.

It found everything in 'share' (the default shared folder) just fine, but it found no trace of my 'media' share (share I created using the web interface).

Should I give up all hope of recovering anything from this vanished share?

Thanks.

Well, lucky me.  Turns out all of the missing contents were found by UFS Explorer after all -- they were just buried several directories deep in an unexpected location, probably not an uncommon occurrence due to how file system recovery works.
