Title: Terastation - expired certificate and renewal
Post by: tlg on December 13, 2012, 06:22:46 PM

Hello

Have a 2 part question regarding SSL and certificates for this device. I did not set this just configuring it for a friend who has used it for a few years and wants to access it from the internet now.

1. Are 3rd party ssl certificates supported? Godaddy, Thawte , etc.

 2. Currently the self signed ssl certificate or key has expired. Is there a renewal process for this? In the documentation it shows the below. The only options I see are browse and import. Can anyone provide some insight on this process.

Thanks

Updating SSL Key

To update a server certificate and a private key for SSL, follow the procedure below.

1 In the Web Admin, navigate to [ Network] - [Network] - [Network Service] - [Edit SSL key].

2 Register server.key for [Private key] and server.crt for [Server Certificate], then click [Import].

Note:

Save SSL key files (server.key and server.crt) on the root of Drive C. They should not be saved in a folder or path whose
name includes two-byte or special characters. You've updated the SSL key.
