Hi,
Im having problems updating the firmware on an LS-WXL device.
The device is stuck in Emergency mode.
I have connected the device to my machine via the white crossover cable that was included in the box.
I have my machine set to 192.168.1.50
I have the LS-WXL set to 192.168.1.150
Subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 on both devices.
I have been through the FAQ 2 post and used the DEBUGGING options, the firmware appears to download to the device fine, it copies the firmware down no problem, then gets to the last stage, the installation bars move all the way across and right at the end, when it appears to have finished I get the following error:
"No reponse from LS-WXL-EMEE2. Please check your network settings. The LS-WXL-EMEE2 and your computer should be on the same subnet. Temporarily disable any firewalls and try again."
Windows firewall is not enabled, I have confirmed both devices are on the same subnet and I can ping the LS-WXL from my computer no problem.
I am stuck, have you come across this before? Any ideas what I can do?
I have another 11 of these devices dotted around my companies network working without fault.
Cheers
Jamie
Bump,
Any ideas?? I'm stuck with this device at the moment...
It is my understanding that the LS-WXL will only boot into EM mode if it has a problem and I can't force this myself?
Assuming you can successfully ping the Linkstation, the only reason you would get this error message is because there is some security software (either anti virus and/or Firewall software) still running on the PC.
