Title: Mac Book and LS-WV2.0TL/R1
Post by: DanLand on November 26, 2012, 08:50:33 PM

I have just switch over to Mac. My Windows PC has died. My linkstation was setup with shares for Windows and Apple. I no long will be accessing my linkstation via a Windows PC, only Apple. I want to be able to take full advantage of my Linkstation and my Mac Book with iPhoto. I do not want to lose the files on my linkstation, I can back them up somewhere if needed. What do I need to do for my Mac to take full advantage of the Linkstation. I would like to be able to store my iPhoto library on my linkstation. From what I understand, in order to store my iPhoto library on my linkstation it needs to be formatted as Mac OS Extended, is that possible? I am new to Mac...

Thank You

Ok, you have a link station Produo which is a fairly nifty Nas,

First, it is a network attach storage, you can not format to Mac oS as it has it has its own XFS Filing system.

However, even better you can create a shared folder and Mount it as a network drive to the mac, which in return will enable you to use the drive as one of your drives.

Does installing the MAC OS firmware on the link station offer any benefits?

When you see the Mac Os beside the Firmware version, it only means it contains the updater program which will run on a Mac so that Firmware can be installed.
