4 TB / LS-WX4.0TL/R1
I currently use the Overwrite Backup (Append): Saves as "_backups\sourcename\data". Does a complete backup the first time, subsequent backups only send the changes. If a file is on the destination that is not on the source, it will not be deleted.
I currently have my share folder as the main folder. I have raid 1 setup so that the 4 TB is split in half and the main 2 TB side is mirrored to the other side. I utilize the Overwrite Backup (Append) method. I back up the share folder to the usbdrive1 twice a week.I also backup the share folder to another folder inside that array called backup folder. So, basically I backup the share folder to another folder (named backupfolder) on that same drive and to an external drive(named usbdrive1).
For some reason, recently some of the files on the share folder have gone missing (deleted) and some are corrupted and are not in the trashbox. I think most if not all of those missing files are in the two backup destionations (backupfolder, and usbdrive1).
When I say corrupted, some of the word or excel files have a ~$name or something like that or there may be multiple copies of one corrupted file and the file size may not be right along with the date modified as well as a lot of temp files. When I try to open those files Word or Excel can't open them properly.
Would there be a problem in backing up the drive to another folder in the same drive? Should I stop backing up the share folder to another folder on that drive, and only backup to an external drive? I just updated the firmware from 1.58 to 1.63 today. So, this problem was occurring with 1.58. Thank you
