Title: Terastation 4-Bay 8 TB (4 x 2 TB) with only 3 drives
Post by: jcrizzy on November 19, 2012, 10:20:52 PM
So 1 drive just died. removed drive #1...so I'm running "ok" with just 3x2TB drives (no RAID just normal mode w each sep drive)...but the Terastation still complains and alerts bad drive (#1) even though it is removed. And the LCD is red because of this.

1. is it ok to run this with only 3 drives?
2. if so, is the red LCD normal even though the drive is removed?

1. Yes you can continue to run it nornally.

2. Yes, this is normal the LED is reporting that one of the HDDs is missing, there is no way to remove this error without replacing the HDD.
