Title: Bad drive
Post by: mneugebauer00 on November 12, 2012, 10:44:54 AM

I have a Linkstation LS-WXL that has a failed drive.  It is a Seagate drive.  Do I have to replace it with the exact same drive that is in there, or what is the process on that?  Can I use any 2 TB drive?

once you match the specs of the original HDD it should be fine, make/manufacturer is not important.

So we can use any drive, as long as it is 2TB?  Has anyone used a different drive before that can verify that?

I can just match the speed and the size of he HDD, and you will not have a problem

I used a Seagate Barracude 3TB HDD, the Buffalo NAS will accept others, not just a 2 TB.

Ensure you partition and format. Happy downloading!
