I have 2 NAS units, #1 is the LS-WVL/E and #2 is LS-WX4.
I noticed that both units had the Info/Error LEDs lit and I logged into them and both told me that there was a firmware update available.
Both had been updated to 1.62 when I set them up about a Month ago so I kicked of the firmware update on both of them.
The LS-WX4 updated and rebooted just fine and is normal, however, the LS-WVL/E just hangs there.
I can connect to it but it still gives me the warning "Updating Firmware..." and Progress: Updating of the firmware has started.
I can connect to the volumes from windows and I do see the files, however, I can't do anything in the unit itself.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
I had to do a force firmware on a unit a few days ago even though I was forcing the same firmware back on it.
A few things to look at first, just drop all firewalls and virus tools for the time being and see if that helps. For me that did it.
The ini can be edited as well so that it will not check version existing and force what it has down.
Some say to direct connect the unit and try. I went the above listed attemps first and it was golden
After backing up all the files that were not replaceable, I downloaded the zip firmware file for 1.63 and attempted to apply from the PC.
The first try failed with a message "ACP_STATE_FAILURE".
I tried again and this time it was sucessful, the firmware was updated and it rebooted completely.
I can now see all of the files and everything appears to be normal now.
Thanks,
