Title: Changing the Firmware
Post by: RTamer on November 04, 2012, 01:48:23 PM

I recently bought two HS-DHGL v2 cases (without drives) from an online auction.  I installed a 2TB drive with firmware v2.11 only to learn that the web interface was in chinese.  After a bit of searching, I did manage to get it back to German (I live and work in Germany).  There is a beta version 2.11a now, and was wondering if it was possible to upgrade, or downgrade the firmware versions without losing data.  To my knowledge, the units set up the drives with three partitions, one of them being the firmware.  If this is so, and the firmware, boot, and data partitions are drive based, is it also possible to interchange the HS and LS firmware?  They seem to be almost the same units.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Upgrading to the beta firmware will not erase any data, you cannot interchange from HS to LS firmwares.
