Title: LS-CH2.0TL Flashing Blue LED and continually rebooting.
Post by: amissen on November 01, 2012, 01:14:03 PM

Hi there.

I have two LS-CH2.0TL linkstations (which I will refer to as LS1 and LS2).

LS1 is my initial device and is working well.

LS2 is my daughter's device and was purchased in my recommendation.  As her and the family are living back at home with me it was attached some time ago to my home network ( a Gigabit Switched Ethernet LAN hosted on a TPLink 16-port Switch linked to a BT Home Hub providing DHCP services and WAN gateway etc.  All worked well for a month or so but now LS2 is nolonger communicating with the Blue LED indicator continually flashing.  Note I can also hear the disk spinning up and down as if it is trying to reboot continually.

I followed basic problem determination by swithcing off and restarting with no success.

Having read some posts I downloaded the Firmware Updater to my MAC (OSX10.7.5) which found LS1 OK and updated this from v1.54 to 1,.60 with little problem)  I am assuming the as my daughter's LS2 was purchased not too long after mine I would assume it is likewise at FW v 1.54.

Switching LS2 off and on did nothing other than stopping the device successfuly but then on power up just went back to flashing.

Following FAQ 3of3 I followed the TFTP Recovery Boot process using an XP PC with no success the Blocks Served messages never appearing.  I ran IPCONFIG to confirm the correct IP address and that the WIrless ports were disabled.  I also confirmed that the firewall is switched off.  I dd notice the ethernet port on the PC stopping and starting as LS2 folllowed its boot up cycle.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks....

I have tried that and no success. The unit just continues to flash!

You need to try to put the unit in to EM mode first and then you have to update the firmware.
