Title: LinkStation LS-CH500L - in Emergency Mode - Help!
Post by: concept66 on October 31, 2012, 05:10:30 AM

Hi

My link station has been working fine. However, I recently noticed I was unable to connect to it.

I've just downloaded the "NASNavigator" from the App Store and it says my devicee is in "Emergency Mode"

What does this mean and how can I fix?!?

Please help!

Many thanks

Adam

Hi Thaitawat

Thanks for getting back.

By upgrading will I loose all my data on my NAS??

How do I know which version I have? According to the NASNavigator it shows the NAS as "LS-CHL-V2-EME56" - doe this mean it's V2 so use firmware v1.60??

Thanks for your help

updating the firmware should not effect the data, you have a V2 so you need 1.60

I've tried using "password" as the password (as I think this is the default) but no joy. I've tried a few others but none seem to work... what can I do!??

Thanks!

Did it ask you for a password at the end of the update?

Yeah - I currently have a pop up box (it looks like the firmware update has just finished)

That says:

"Enter the administrator password click [OK].

Current version: 1.60

New version: 1.60

Password:

[CANCEL] [OK]

Any ideas?!

Thanks so much for your help...

you need a Windows PC to do it from, there is no MAC version.

Ok - just got my old windows laptop and ran that!

All now seems to be working! Thanks so much for your help :-)

Out of interest, do you know what may have caused this to happen?!

Thanks again

Probably a power cut or the unit not being shut down correctly.
