Title: Linkstation Duo LS-WXL - FUNCTION FLASHING - INFO FLASHING l25
Post by: SimonEdwards on October 30, 2012, 07:04:41 AM

Hi,

I think I have tried just about everything from from all the posts and threads on this site now, resetting it, forcing a firmware update (1.62), replacing disks, the lot. I still cannot get this device to work!

The device was handed to me by a user who could no longer get access, i used UFS explorer to view the structure, 1 disk had RAW data on it, the other just Buffalo system files. I could not access the web interface via IP so tried a firmware update using LSUpdater, this seems to go through to the end but then couldnt find the device after that. I did this twice and it made no difference (the 2nd time it ran for about 12 hours!). I killed the power and now cannot ping the device (i could previously even with no web access).

I have since tried resetting it with new disks, i haven't done any testing with the original 2 disks as I don't want to risk losing my data which is currently stored on disk 2 so have replaced it with another 1tb disk. NAVI & LSUpdater no longer see the device and currently, after it's last reset (which appeared to start off ok with both lights flashing blue) the current status on the lights is:-

POWER: SOLID BLUE

FUNCTION: CONSTANT FLASHING BLUE

INFO: FLASHING AMBER - l25 which i believe to be updating firmware (flashes twice for a second and then 5 times quickly)

It appears to be stuck on updating the firmware but whatever i do, it doesn't change anything.

I can see 1.63 firmware is now available on a foreign website but cannot even try this as i cannot see the device.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
