Title: CS-WX Cloudstation: How to modify WorkGroup name?
Post by: Fabrikk on October 28, 2012, 06:48:29 AM

Hello
How is it possible that a NAS has no option to modify windows network name?
it's a keyfeature and very simple to implement, also the cheapest device has it
so please tell me is there a way to force the device and change Workgroup name?
I have already installed firmware 2.35 but nothing changed!
Thanks you

Of course you can change it. Local GUI -> System -> Device Name.

Umm not the Device Name but the Network Name

the cloudstation has default Network name: WORKGROUP (which is default windows setting)

I need to change it according to the name of my own network.

How does it come that a 250Euro device has NO chance to change such a basic parameter?

I am sure that messing with config file is a 5 minute matter..

how to access it?

root access is blocked, put the suggestion to add the feature in the idea exchange lounge.
