Title: checking/formatting
Post by: mist_firefly on October 26, 2012, 05:58:05 AM

hi,

I logged in to one of our clients buffalo and I got the Checking/formatting screen but I didn't ask for that, haven't been on the web interface for this in more than a month.

Why would this be happening, what could cause it? Could it be something scheduled ?

Thanks

That's great, how about tell us what device you actually have and the firmware your using. Read the forum guidelines before posting again.

Firmware version:1.24
(DTCP-IP:1.22-20100113)

LinkStation Duo2TB - dual drive with RAID

This buffalo is on a public IP

It is at the client place and because of the Checking/Formatting I can't actually see more information on the web interface(sorry).

Using Windows 7 on computers.

Also what I noticed is: in the email notifications about this one underneath the  [HDD Usage Status] there is no information at all and that is happening since a month ago(a month ago there was information about the HDD drive(Usage Rate 10%)). Does that mean it wasn't working since then?

Can it go onto the checking/formatting stage without someone actually doing it manually?

Thanks

What does the Nas Navigator software report? What RAID are you using?

All features are disabled until the disk is completely checked/formatted. Also, file sharing is not available.

I believe we are using RAID0. Don't have information about the NAS navigator at this moment (is that the software on the client computer? need to remote to their system to find out)

Please could you tell me if the fact that the emails don't show any information underneath

[HDD Usage Status] means that since then the buffalo wasn't working?

Thanks

you possibly have an issue with the RAID or one of the disks. Eitherway, check what the Nas Navigator says.
