Title: User and data Migration between two Linkstation LS-QVL/R5's
Post by: parisisaskank on October 25, 2012, 07:33:51 AM

I would like to know the easiest way to migrate everything (data , configuration , users etc) between two LS-QVL/R5's.

They are identical in model , firmware (1.60) and planned disk configuration (RAID0) but the only difference is that the second one will consist of 4x 3Tb drives (as opposed to 4x 2Tb ones).

What I would like to do is the following :

1. Move everything (inlcuding the name of the NAS) to the larger box.

2 Have an identical set of users on both machines.

3. Rename the original NAS.

Would it be simpler to replicate the orginal , then reformat it ?

Regarding the data use the in built backup feature. Regarding everything else, it will need to be done manually.
