Title: New 8TB DriveStation making "failure to flush cache" errors and causing my full system to hang.
Post by: chrisrolf on October 22, 2012, 07:37:39 AM

I have 2 NEW BUFFALO DriveStation Quad 4-Bay RAID USB 3.0 Desktop Hard Drives(an 8 and a 12TB) both on your 4 Port USB CARD and both setup as raid 10. The 8 is failing (since I added the twelve to the system.**) with NTFS Warning 57s, saying "failure to flush cache may lead to data corruption". The error repeats continuously until Win7 hangs on my HP Desktop and it will not shut down. It's invisible when happening until explorer or another program using the file hangs, locking the machine and requiring a cold boot. On startup Chkdsk will repair the files but it occurs every time I access any file, only that array (while the same file on any of the other of the drives including the 12TB Raid works perfectly).

**Now that I go back, the log also shows in the week before I ADDED THE 12, that the 8TB for its first week up showed  inutile log error warnings 51 -  "errors during a paging operation". But I failed to see those and no data was corrupted.

ALL THE OTHER THE OTHER DRIVES (including the other DRIVESTATION 12TB raid) ARE ALL WORKING FINE AND THE SYSTEM STABLE.

PLEASE HELP
