Title: Cloudstor CS-WX - doesn't recognize USB attached drive formatted NTSF
Post by: bwphoto on October 11, 2012, 06:08:50 PM

CS-WX1.0T/1D

Firmware: 1.13 build 2.35

RAID 1 using two 1T Seagate 7200 drives

WinXP Home - 5.1.2600 SP 3 Build 2600

Bought a WD My Book Essential 1T USB drive.  Reformatted it to NTFS.  Verified it is completely clean of all executables and WD folders.

When I plug it into the CS, the USB lights up, but when viewing the CS via the Web interface and selecting: Device Settings/Backup/USB Backup,

"There are no USB drives connected to this Cloudstor. ..."

Bump.  I spoke to tech support and was told it needed to be formatted XFS since the CS runs Linux.  Is this accurate?

Yes, it is accurate, you should be able to format it from cloud station web interface, if you go in to Sytem/ storage........., Also make sure the Firmware is upto date

Hi, Brian

I assume you mean I should restore the Cloudstor?  Do you mean the Device Settings via the Control Panel?

BTW, I am getting a new CD under warranty - the current one stopped recognizing one of the internal drives.  Maybe this will address the issue.

Thanks.
