Title: Linkstation HS-DH500GL - slow gigabit ethernet
Post by: mon on October 06, 2012, 12:38:09 PM

I've had the hs dh500gl for a few years now. Just upgraded my router to a  dgnd3700  which has 4 gig ports. The router shows the nas connecting at 1000m but the actual file transfer speed has gotten a lot worse, from 10MB/s (on 100m lan) down to 3MB/s on the gig connection. Testing file transfers between two pc's on the same network has transfers in the region of 70 to 80MB/s.

i've tried changing the frame size to jumbo, but that hasn't helped. Tested from two different pc's to the nas as well. Anyone got an idea how to resolve?

has been answered and discussed many many times. Try the search function.

You will not get more than 10MB/sec.  Problem is the slow CPUs in most of the Buffalo devices. It cannot handle faster speeds, even if you have Gigabit-network or Buffalo would offer a fiber glass connection - still only 1oMB/sec.
