Title: Frozen backup jobs on TeraStation Pro TS-HTGL/R5
Post by: escaglj on September 27, 2012, 09:43:14 AM

I am currently running 2 backup jobs on my TeraStation that do not seem to be progressing any further than they did yesterday.  I had one backup job running that froze, so I was hoping that if I started another job, it would "unfreeze" the 1st job.  The 2nd job seemed to run smoothly, but now it is also frozen.  I'm getting frustrated with this unit as I have tried to back it up several times now with the same issues.  It is running firmware version 1.10, RAID 5 config and I am using a WD MyPassport 2TB USB drive to back it up.  Can someone help?

Update the Terastation to 1.35 (why you are still on 1.10 is behond me!)

Ensure the WD is formatted to XFS via the GUI.

Reset the Terastation to factory defaults and then setup the backup jobs again.

Can someone post a link to firmware upgrade procedures for my TeraStation and where can I get the newer firmware files?  I guess I need to upgrade to 1.33 first and then 1.35.   It's pretty lame that I can't complete a full backup on this thing without it freezing up.

Download the files, unzip and run the .exe file with your anti virus and firewall disabled.

Thank you.  I emailed support and they sent me the links as well.  Is that all I need to do is run the TSUpdater and click Update?  Also, will this default my NAS to default setting or will it retain my settings?

Correct, just unzip and run the Updater. The Icon will look like two rings intersecting. It shouldn't affect your data, or your settings.
