Title: Terrible transfer speeds since updating to 1.61
Post by: disk0 on September 25, 2012, 04:54:17 PM

I have had the link station live for a couple of months now, cannot say the transfer speed were particuarly fantastic to start off with.  Seems after this latest firmware update speed over 100mb LAN has reduced to a few kbs.

Cannot say i'm particuarly happy about this, I had an iomega box which was alot faster and considered buffalo a better NAS or at least I thought so.

Any idea on a possible fix or is it possible to roll back the firmware with losing the 20gb of data stored on it?  I don't relish the thought of spending weeks transferring it all at the current speed

If you are on Linkstation firmware 1.61, you will need to download the 1.62 firmware and use the .exe file to manually upgrade to 1.62  1.61 does not have the upgrade option in the GUI.

OK when I run the software there is apparently no device on my network that requires an upgrade.

Perhaps there is another way i can access the box, perhaps ssh or telnet?

Any reset procedure i can try?

I have tried to erase it totally and from the flashing lights I get an red light with 2 long flashes followed by 2 short flashes - is it time for the trash?

LS-CHL (version 2) only goes up to 1.60 firmware on the USA and UK sites. from where did you get 1.61?
