I purchased the HD-PNTU3 1 TB 2 months back, i'm travelling since then, so i'm backing up all the pictures and other data to the bufallo, even another external drive was acting strange so i backed it up to the current PNTU3 considering it is new and never had the slightest impact, so i said i'll back up my data once i get back home, all the suddent 3 days ago it stopped showing on the computer, nor in the Disc Managment, it shows only in Devices and Printers, i purchased different cables, tried it on different laptops and desktops, unistalled, restored, changed the system registery, still same problem, out of stress i did a shamanic ritual under the full moon, yet still no results :p, it is password protected, you plug it in, it shows the blue light for a second and from there it's red, i need a solution for this, , i have extremly important data, the pictures are captured moments in time that you can never have back, also it's how i make my living, i don't have recovery center where i live, please help me fix this, it still has the warranty, but that is not the problem, if i lost the data here, i'm truly doomed, whatever is it you have to say good or bad, an answer is all i'm hoping for now, be well folks.

You will need to contact buffalo tech support open a product replacement case in warranty, and ask them due to the sensitive nature of the data you have you need to open the case and get it recovered by a third party company, (unless you know how to do it yourself.) If you open the casing without going through the steps above, you will void the warranty. Good Luck. sorry couldn`t help more
