Title: Linkstation Mini - Installed 1x 160GB HDD only (red lights and not TFTP)
Post by: deaney on September 08, 2012, 09:45:37 AM

Hi All,

Just brought a linkstation Mini from ebay (so goodbye warrenty!).

It came with no drives installed, I thought it would be a simple case of installing 2x (any capacity) drives and away you go.

I could only afford the 1 HDD at the moment so thought I would install a 160GB WD Black.

I get the usual 6x Flashing red lights, and have covered almost all material online regarding formatting the drive in linux, and the installing the network cable into the PC and scanning using the TFTP software.

The only bit of progress I've made is the TFTP Boot.exe software giving me 2 updates, thats it. None of the other discovery software can find the NAS at all! this is driving me crazy.

I have tried holding down the button etc to put the drive into recovery mode, but its just not being discovered.

Thanks
James
