Title: TerraStation Pro - 3 TB external USB drive not recognized
Post by: pwashburn on August 31, 2012, 02:11:45 PM

TerraStation Pro Rack Mount - TS-RHTGL/R5  1.0 TB   Firmware 1.33.   The TerraStation doesn't recognize the 3TB WD My Book Essentials I was hoping to use for offsite backups.   It does work with the earlier 1.5 TB WD drives I've used.   Is this a firmware limitation?  If not, how do I get the TerraStation to recognize the drives?

That TS can only support USB HDDs upto 2 Tb.

Okay, thanks. Suppose a firmware update won't raise that limit? I'm running the 1.33 firmware on it.

that unit was discontinued a few years ago and so i doubt any more updates will appear, even with the latest 1.35 FW there is still that limitation.
