Title: Blu Rays burned with BR-X816U2 not readable by other players
Post by: GilTphoto on August 21, 2012, 01:03:14 PM

I have been having problems reading Blu Ray disks burned by BR-X816U2. They play fine on this burner, but the disks are unrecognizable by the Internal Blu Ray player in my computer, or my Samsung Blu Ray player attached to TV.  Using Acro Circle BD-R 1-4x disks.

Called Buffalo and their tech support said it was due to supplied program's (CyberLink PowerDVD 8) DRM policy. If you don't buy full version, disks can only be read by burner.

Well, I just tried burning with 2 other programs (Corel DVD Movie Factory and ProShow Gold). Same problem with all 3 programs, so not a software problem.  All 3 programs burn the disk with no problems

Computer is Toshiba Satellite with Intel i7 with 8 Gigs RAM running Win 7 professional 64 bit, 1 TB HD

Could it be related to cheap BD-R disks?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

No one has any suggestions?  I even tried ImgBurn software. Same thing. Only plays on Buffalo drive.
