Linkstation Duo 2TB LS-WXLX-28 on my network and visble to my Windows XP  and 7 systems.  I'm just setting up a Windows 8 ACER Iconia Tablet.  It's not seeing the Linkstation.  When I got the Acer it had windows 7 on it and it could access my Linkstations automatically.  worked smooth.  I was impressed.. (felt like I was using an apple system since everything just worked out of the box. :)   )  I purchased and loaded windows 8 and now its not seeing the linstation  It connected to my network/internet just fine, but not the linkstation.

ideas?

I have the same problem with a  two LinkStations, a Duo LS-WXL F/W 1.63 4.0TB and a Single LS-GL F/W 1.11 1.0TB. I upgraded an MEDION Akoya E7222 to Windows 8 64Bits. The Linkstations are working fine with a Windows 7-Laptop, a VISTA-Laptop and an ANDROID-Tablet in the same network but not with the Windows 8-laptop.

 

The webbrowser access is working quick with the Single LinkStation and very slow (minutes) with the DUO LinkStation.

 

BUFFALO Hotline told me that I am the only one with this problem and I have to contact MICROSOFT. "That all LinkStation do not have a Win 8 OS Support at http://www.buffalo-technology.com/linkstation-trade.html belongs on the missing update of the homepage only".

 

As the link you provided is to our European support's website, I am going to have to refer to the information by which you were provided with from Buffalo Europe support. My apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Same problem for me with a LINKSTATION LS-CH500L-EU. It works fine with WINDOWS XP, VISTA, even LINUX OpenSuse,  but is not detected by WINDOWS 8. 

I have the same problem with win8 on a Toshiba Sattelite.

- Link Station Duo not detected by Software but accessible with direct addess.

- Won't wake up in Auto-mode when win 8 Computer connects / fine with Win7

This would be down to your anti virus and/or firewall on the windows 8 laptop not set to allow access to/from the linkstation.
